Christmas Outfit Ideas, Part Two

Getting closer and closer to the big day, here are three more great ideas for dressing up on Christmas (or even before)!

I know it's easy to get sick of wearing red and green during the holiday season, so today's tips steer completely clear of the dreaded Christmas colours. I promise.

If you absolutely can't decide what colour to wear, maybe a neutral beige is for you. This beauty, with its wrap-around waist and flared skirt, is a super-flattering option which should suit just about any figure. I'd wear it with a deep burgundy cardigan or wrap and some classic heels.

Feeling a bit more daring? Try orange. It's not a colour for everyone, but if it tickles your fancy then this bow-neck dress might be just the ticket. Wear it with a pair of matching flats and a beehive hairstyle for the ultimate Mod Christmas!

And now for something completely different... From this year's Christmas collection, our striped blue velour dress is an unusual take on a holiday outfit, so this is for you if you want to stand out from the crowd a bit! Wear it with navy shoes and lashings of silver bangles for the best effect. The best bit? It's our Offer of the Month, so you get €40 off!

What will you be wearing for Christmas? Red and greens, or something completely non-traditional?

Personal Pick: Flirty Floral Dress

Perfect for the transition to Autumn weather, this floral, 1940s-style tea dress will see you through hot and cool times. It's got that great Edge of Love style, which goes perfectly with so many things — from chunky knits to uber-feminine high heels.

Pair it with some light shoes to make those hot days bearable, or with tights (I'd suggest navy or cream) and a cute cardigan when the sun fails to show his face.

Vintage-Inspired Cherry Print Skirt and Dresses

Do you like flowery, fruity, summery prints? Well, take your pick from these lovely new cherry-print dresses and skirts in the online store:

Cotton Skirt

My favourite is the maxi-dress, personally. Swooshing around in a long, floaty dress on a hot summer day = instant romantic appeal!

Pick of the Week: Peter Pan Collars

I'm the sort of person whose taste changes from one second to the next, especially when it comes to clothes. I'll like floaty florals one seconds, tailored jackets the next, and then start drooling over stripy t-shirts instead. Because of this, I thought I'd introduce a new feature to the blog - Pick of the Week - so that I can rave about my changing obsessions on a regular basis! :)

This week, I'm all about Peter Pan collars. Actually, this is a lasting love of mine - I'll buy anything with a collar in this style!

And the Peter Pan collar on this blue dress is no exception to the rule. I adore the colour, style and pockets, and it would be so easy to dress up as well as down.

Wear it with black tights, heels, and a matching necklace for a night out, or just a pair of flats for daytime comfort. Either way, it's perfectly suited to the situation.

Dress Up, Dress Down

What are your current obsessions? I'd love to hear about them.

Retro 1960s Mod Inspired Outfit

Image from allposters.com

They were hip, they were cool, they were edgy... they were mods! Now they're kooky and retro, but we still love them anyway.

Most people just associate the Mod lifestyle with the clothes, and rightly so, because they were pretty clothes-obsessed. But Mods had an agenda too; they wanted to reject the bland, boring culture of the 1950s, and engage with things that were smarter and faster paced. Amphetamine abuse aside, that all sounds pretty good to me.
